Rangers Defeat Kings 4-2 at Garden Wednesday for 6th Straight Win

My Wife and I were at the Garden last night for another great finish by the Rangers. The Kings came in with a 4-1 record and played very fast. They took the game to the Blueshirts from the first shift of the game. They beat them to the puck and played in the Rangers defensive zone and outshot them 36-21. They did not win their share of draws (face-offs) either. Coach John Tortorella called an early time out and barked at the team with hands going nonstop. The Rangers got the message and played better. Vinny Prospal scored two Ranger power play goals early and midway through the 1st period. Brian Boyle scored his 1st goal as a Ranger early in the 2nd period against his old team. Marian Gaborik scored an amazing goal from the left faceoff circle early in the 3rd period. He took a good cross ice pass from Vinny Prospal and let go a snap shot that headed into the upper right corner of the net. This kind of scoring is what was missing from the team the last two years. Ryan Callahan is the only alternate captain at the moment and I’d like to see Vinny Prospal wear the other A on his sweater. If not how about rotating like they did in 1993-94. Henrik Lundqvist had a huge game with 34 saves, 10 on the Kings’ power play. Gaborik made a very cool play by giving the puck to Prospal late in the 3rd period so he could get the empty net goal and the hat trick. The Kings broke up the play but it was great to see that team type of play. The three stars of the game were Henrik Lundqvist, Vinny Prospal and Marian Gaborik.
