Nightmare Season Continues for Mets as They’re Swept by the Nationals

The nightmare season continues for the Metropolitans. Tim Redding pitched another great game deserving the win but instead gets nothing for his work. Redding gave up 1.0 earn run on 4 hits (HR), 1 walk with 2 strikeouts in 6.0 innings. With the Mets up 4-2 going into the bottom of the ninth a win looked in the bag. The Nationals brought 7 to the plate and scored 5 off of closer Francisco Rodriguez (K-Rod) for the win. Two singles, sac but, 2nd and 3rd with one out. Walk to load the bases. K-Rod gets a strikeout for the second out. Walk forces in a run then bam, a walk off grand slam. That’s the second time K-Rod’s given up a walk off grand slam to a team this season and last night was his 7th blown save. The nightmare will be over soon.
