Pedro vs. Yankees Will Be Just Like Old Times

It’s been six years since Don Zimmer (aka Popeye) charged out of the dugout and Pedro Martinez threw him to the ground. It was more a defensive move that still didn’t need to happen. What was Popeye thinking? Protecting your team is one thing but getting in the middle of something that could have been left to guys half to a third your age made more sense.

Don Zimmer to ESPN:
“Pedro is full of crap. It’s what, six years later? If Pedro wants to be a big man, I don’t care what he says.”
I don’t remember this much drama during the regular season Subway Series games between Pedro’s old team the Mets and Yankees. This should be fun. Pedro will either be lights out awesome or will implode. If he’s lights out it will be a tough road for the Yankees when they visit the City of Brotherly Love. Zimmer should have been wearing his combat helmet. It sounds like he's wearing it now sans the NY.

  1. I hope he is lights out awesome!!As a lifetime Mets fan I was back and forth between rooting for NY or the hated fillthies. But when i overheard 3 stankee fans on the train home last night stating profusely they would destroy the skirt wearing fanatics, my "on the fence" mind was made up for me.
