WR Braylon Edwards was traded to the New York Jets on Tuesday from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for WR Chansi Stuckey, LB Jason Trusnik and two draft choices that were not disclosed. I’d like to know the two draft choice positions to really see what the Jets gave up. He will start on Monday night against Miami. Edwards is a stud receiver who knows the Jets offensive terminology so he should be able to make an immediate impact. He has the propensity to be a knucklehead on and off the field so let’s hope his friend Kerry Rhodes keeps him in check. Bringing him to the Jets takes them up a notch now and glad that they have him. I liked Stuckey but Edwards is a proven star who has the ability to have 60 or more receptions and 10 touchdowns for the Jets. Let’s hope he cuts down on his drops and opens up the offensive as a consistent downfield threat. This should mean more one-on-one coverage against Jerricho Cothery as well as give Thomas Jones some secondary blocks and open running lanes. I can’t wait to see him Monday night.
