Monday, July 19th Installment of What’s Up Jerry?

Oliver Perez pitched for the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons the other day and will most likely head for the Met bullpen. My first thought is ‘God help us all!’ With the lack of steady offense I can see Ollie blowing a 1-run lead in the 7th inning of a crucial game. Jerry Manuel and Omar Minaya (aka Nomore Goodbya) should call up Pat Misch from the Bisons, put Takahashi in the bullpen and keep Perez in Buffalo. Ollie would have to agree to a minor league stint unfortunately and probably won’t. Jerry said he doesn’t see a need to bring up Misch yet! Luis Castillo may see second base tonight for the Mets as he’s been rehabbing with the Single-A St. Lucie Mets. Let’s make Angel Pagan the everyday right fielder and Jeff Fancouer the fourth outfielder. I like Frenchy but he’s just not playing well at all. How the hell exactly did Mike Pelfrey hurt his neck on the cross country flight and miss his start this weekend? He’s slated to start tonight against the Diamondbacks. Francisco Rodriguez (K-Rod) was a knucklehead in losing his mind as he blew the save yesterday and must focus and just get saves. K-Rod’s become an adventure every time he gets the ball lately. Ruben Tejada played shortstop but Jose Reyes’ offense is sorely missed and he should start along with Carlos Beltran in center field. This series in Arizona has become a must win, no, make that a must sweep series.
