Carlos Beltran Will Start in Center Field and Hit Cleanup for Mets Tonight!

Carlos Beltran said on Sunday that he’s “Good to go” and he will have the chance to show his wares tonight in San Francisco. The Mets open up an eleven game road trip tonight starting with four games against the Giants. R.A. Dickey will be on the mound for the Mets against Giants’ ace and All-Star Tim Lincecum. I have no idea why Jerry Manuel is not starting Johan Santana tonight. Beltran will be playing with a brace on his right knee and has admitted to not being 100 percent. I wasn’t sure if I’d see this day where Beltran returns to the lineup for the Mets this season. Angel Pagan will start in right field for Jeff Francoeur and Ike Davis will move out of the cleanup spot and down the order. Let’s hope he doesn’t end up back on the disabled list and can contribute to the team in the second half.
