Mets Fall Short Tonight in 8-6 Loss to Reds at Citi Field

Tonight Mike Pelfrey was knocked around in the 5th inning after he thought he struck out Scott Rolen on a foul tip with two strikes and bases loaded with nobody out. The strike was overturned and Rolen went to first after the hit by pitcher call. Jerry Manuel was ejected from the game as he argued the call with the home plate umpire and did a good job keeping Rob Barajas from getting ejected. The Reds ended up scoring 6 runs in the inning. The Mets came back with 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning but came up short in their comeback bid. Angel Pagan went 2-for-5 (HR), 1 run with 1 RBI. David Wright and Alex Cora also had 2-hit nights. I hope the Mets get back to their winning ways at home. Big Pelf has had tough outings in his last 4 starts.
