I’ll keep up with a few of the notable comings and goings of the local NHL teams:
DEVILS
PAUL MARTIN – left to sign five-year deal with Penguins – very good defenseman but Devils had other ideas on how to spend their money
HENRIK TALLINDER – solid defenseman signing with Devils for four-years
ANTON VOLCHENKOV – another solid defenseman signing with Devils for six-years
ISLANDERS
JEFF TAMBELLINI – left to sign one-year deal with Canucks – only played in 36 games last season
TIM JACKMAN – left to sign two-year deal with Flame – missed 20 games last season with injury
RANGERS
ALEX AULD – left to sign one-year deal with Montreal and Blueshirts signed Biron
JODY SHELLEY – left to sign three-year deal with Flyers (aka Effers) – I loved him but he’s 34-years-old and he wanted a longer-term deal
DEREK BOOGARD – signed four-year deal with Rangers and will stop any baloney from happening to Henrik or his old teammate Marian Gaborik – I hope I’m at the Garden when he scores his only goal of the season and The Boogeyman will quickly become a fan favorite
OLLI JOKINEN – left to sign with the Flames, again – Rangers need a top line center not a second liner
VINNY PROSPAL – remains with Rangers for another season, pay increase – I loved his tenacity and hope he plays as well this season
