Game of Firsts for Mets as they Defeat Rockies 8-3

The Mets roughed up Jason Marquis for 5 earned runs, on 9 hits in 5.0 innings and defeated the Colorado Rockies 8-3 yesterday at Coors Field. Pat Misch looked excellent in winning his first Major League game. He gave up 2 earned runs, on 4 hits (2 HRs), 2 walks with 3 strikeouts in 7.0 innings. Josh Thole made his first big league start at catcher. Batting 7th Thole went 2 for 5, with 1 double and 1 stolen base. He stole his first base after collecting his first hit, a solid line drive over second base. Angel Pagan and David Wright had 3 hit games, Wright with 3 RBIs. Jeff Francoeur had 2 hits and 1 HR with 2 RBIs.
