Carlos Beltran Should Return to the Mets Lineup Tonight

Carlos Beltran's been out of action and on the DL since June 22nd with a bone bruise. He played five rehab games as a member of the Brooklyn Cyclones with the following lackluster stats: 3 for 18, 1 run, 2 RBIs, 3 total bases, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. He hasn't exactly ripped it up in the Penn League. Beltran spoke while sitting in the Brooklyn dugout before the game last Wednesday from nytimes.com:
“Of course I’m not; 100 percent is where you have like no pain,” Beltran said as he sat in the Cyclones’ dugout before the game. “Right now, it’s decreasing, but I don’t feel like 100 percent.”
Maybe he's being shopped around for a possible offseason trade. I hope not as there are few centerfielders who can cover the vastness of Citi Field.
