Tim Redding pitched another great game today and defeated his old team the Washington Nationals by a score of 3-2 at Citi Field. A larger than expected crowd of almost 38,000 watched Redding mow down the Nats, giving up only 1 earned run, 4 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts on a perfect day for baseball. Jeff Francoeur led the Mets and continued his hot offensive play going 2 for 4 (2B), 2 runs with 1 RBI. Redding and Francoeur gave the fans something to cheer for.
