The Huskies defeated the Red Storm by 16 points last night at the XL Center in Hartford. This was the first game UConn played since their head coach Jim Calhoun took a medical leave of absence. St. John’s was out classed by UConn who broke a 3 game losing streak but remained ranked in the USA Today Top 25. The Red Storm’s record falls to 12-6 and 2-4 in the Big East Conference. D.J. Kennedy led the Johnnies with 19 points. Dwight Hardy had 12 points while Sean Evans, Paris Horne and Anthony Mason Jr. contributed 6 points each. The Red Storm was down by 3 at the half but the Huskies went on a run to begin the 2nd half and St. John’s couldn’t recover. St. John's host Villanova at Madison Square Garden for a noon matinee this Saturday.
