The New York Rangers were victorious Sunday and Tuesday nights at Madison Square Garden much to the crowd’s delight. After the excellent Jet win we took a cab to the Garden to catch the 2nd and 3rd periods. I saw the Canadiens up 2-0 after the 1st and hoped the team would show up the rest of the game and they did. The Rangers scored 3 unanswered goals in the 2nd and 3rd periods to crush the Canadiens 6-2. It was a total team effort, with an excellent forecheck and defensive play. Watching Scott Gomez cough up the puck in the Rangers defensive zone by a nifty play by Marc Stall that ended up a few seconds later in the Canadiens net was worth the price of admission. We were singing the Ole Ole Ole Ole song that the Montreal fans sing during the final minutes of a Habs win. Tuesday the Rangers beat the hell out of the Tampa Bay Lightning. I will post more on this game tomorrow. The team is playing with a lot of confidence.
