It’s official, Ilya Kovalchuk is a New Jersey Devil for life. The NHL approved the second offer from the Devils which will keep the sniper in New Jersey for the rest of his career. Kovalchuk is one of the best players in the world and it’s a great signing for the Devils. The only issue I see is how to keep Zach Parise and other key players down the road. For now the Devils are sitting pretty with a terrific player. Congratulations to general manager Lou Lamoriello for hiring John MacLean as the Devils’ new head coach and for signing a great player in Kovalchuk. Mario Tremblay and Scott Stevens have to be in the coaching mix as well.
