Friday, September 10th Thoughts on Jets and Giants Heading Into the Season

The Jets coaching staff couldn’t be happier with Darrelle Revis reporting to camp as he gears up for the Ravens on Monday night but I have some concerns. Second-year running back Shonn Greene looks to get the majority of carries for the Jets but will need to play at a high-level and avoid injury. Revis needs to get in football shape in a hurry. Mark Sanchez needs to increase his efficiency and not turn the ball over and cut down the interceptions. Jay Feely is no longer the Jets’ placekicker and I wish he was still here. I wonder if the Giants feel the same way about Feely. The New Meadowlands Stadium cohabitants have a lot of concerns as well. The Giants’ linebackers are weak at best and cannot give up the middle of the field. The backfield by committee will be led by Ahmad Bradshaw who’s in his 4th NFL season. Brandon Jacobs has moved down the depth chart behind Bradshaw and hasn’t kept his feelings about that to himself. He’s been quite the baby in fact and I hope he just calms down and takes out his frustration out on the opposing linebackers. Jacobs has really not been the battering ram he was in the past and needs to change that.
