Every Major League Team Wins 50 Games and Loses 50 Games – It’s What the Team Does With the Remaining 62 Games that Counts – How Will the Mets Fare?

The Mets have thrown away a lot of games the past month and have slipped to fourth place in the National League East with a record of 53-52 down from 11 games above .500 not that long ago. Manager Jerry Manuel continually makes decisions that hurt the team. Warming up middle relievers in the bullpen multiple times before bringing them into the game hurts our efforts in tight ballgames. By the time they actually come into the game they get shelled. The Mets have lost umpteen games with walk off wins to the opposition. Batting Luis Castillo in the second hole doesn’t make sense to me. How is Oliver Perez on the active roster and pitching out of the bullpen in any situation? Keeping him on the team is just wasting a roster spot. In a Major League season every teams wins 50 games and loses 50 games. It’s what the team does with the remaining 62 games that counts. If the Mets were able to defeat the teams they should have they’d be in contention for the National League Wild Card. Let’s see what the Mets can do with their remaining games of the season. The New York Post cover was very close the actual one that they ran the day after the crushing loss to the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2006 NLCS. My Wife, friends and I were at that game with tickets to two World Series Games no less! Well I saved money on those tickets at Beltran went down, not swinging by the way. A lot of the Met fans can identify with this little guy crying. I know I can.
