Jose Reyes’ thyroid levels have returned to normal and will be flying to Florida tonight to return to the Mets training camp. He is ready to “resume baseball activities” but I don’t know how long it will take him to actually swing a bat, field ground balls and run the bases in a game. Assuming he was in excellent physical shape already I would hope to see him in a game very soon. The jury’s out as to whether he’ll be in the Opening Day lineup April 5th but this is indeed ahead of schedule. I hope to God he doesn’t start the season on the disabled list.
