The New York Red Bulls open their new Red Bulls Arena tonight at 6:00 PM in Harrison, NJ to a sell out crowd as they host Santos FC in an exhibition match that will be televised by MSG. Harrison is the hotbed of American soccer dating back to Scottish immigration from the 1800’s. The 25,000 seat arena is located across the Passaic River from Newark. The Red Bulls open their 2010 season next Saturday night and my Wife and I will be attending that game. The Newark Trolley has routes from the Ironbound and Broad St. Station that stop at the arena, free of charge. It looks like we’ll be visiting the Spanish Pavillion restaurant in Harrison before the game.
