Bobby Gonzalez was fired today as Men’s Basketball head coach of the Seton Hall Pirates after a 19-13, 9-9 Big East record.
As reported by nj.com:
In a swift and decisive move Wednesday morning, Gonzalez was fired not for wins and losses, but for his personal behavior and that of his players.
Repeated contentiousness with Seton Hall administrators, including a strained relationship with athletic director Joe Quinlan
Berating of officials during games, and even opposing coaches and players. Gonzalez accumulated more than 20 technical fouls during his tenure, and he was suspended for the Pirates’ Big East Conference opener during the 2008-09 season
Moreover, the transgressions of the players brought in by Gonzalez weighed in the decision — most notably this season.
