Wearing their throwback jerseys from the glory years of the early 80's the New York Islanders defeated the visiting New Jersey Devils 4-2 yesterday at the Coliseum (aka Mausoleum). With their win the last place Atlantic Division Islanders kept the Devils out of a first place tie with the hated Penguins. The Devils power play continues to be missing in action, going 0-for-3 yesterday and giving up a shorthanded goal. After hearing that Islander captain Doug Weight will be out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury the Islanders gave the large crowd something to cheer for with the win. Thanks to my friend I’ll be going to the Ranger/Islander game on March 30th at the Coliseum (aka Mausoleum). The three stars of the game were all Islanders: Mark Streit, Dwayne Roloson and Blake Comeau.
