My Wife and I are heading to the New York City Marathon shortly. I volunteer each year and we’re looking forward to the day. I’ve been watching it for over 30 years as it is run on the avenue just up the block from where I grew up in Brooklyn. We’d watch the premier runners cross the Verrazano Bridge and walk up to our spot to root them on. This is a picture of the start of the race where runners cross the bridge from Staten Island into Brooklyn.
