Mets Avoid Arbitration and Signed Daniel Murphy, Dillon Gee and Ruben Tejada to One-Year Contracts Friday

The New York Mets avoided arbitration on Friday (01/16/19) and signed one-year deals with second baseman Daniel Murphy, starting pitcher Dillon Gee and infielder Ruben Tejada. Gee remains on the trading block and to still, to some degree, does Daniel Murphy. I think trading Murphy would be a mistake unless the Mets sign a quality shortstop and move Wilmer Flores to second base. Tejada comes into Spring Training as a backup infielder for New York.
